Cet ancien supermarché est un symbole de ce qu’une communauté peut accomplir dans un quartier à l’aide des organisations dédiées à l’amélioration de la vie des citadins.
Ce bâtiment entièrement rénové de façon à être plus favorable à l’environnement a notamment été équipé en géothermie et d’un toit vert, dont une partie est devenu un jardin potager autour duquel s’organise des activités sociales, animées notamment par Mylène, portrait d’un jardineuse sociale à retrouver ICI (bientôt).
Dans ce bâtiment on retrouve diverses organisations pour soutenir le quartier de Lachine et ses habitants comme des organisations d’aide à l’emploi, des réseaux sociaux mais aussi des services d’aides aux entreprises et de consultation sur l’environnement. On y trouve notamment le GRAME , une organisation qui a soutenu la mise aux standards environnementaux de ce bâtiment. Le GRAME œuvre afin de proposer des solutions réalistes aux problèmes environnementaux, à la fois à travers des actions de communications mais aussi comme dans le cas de ce bâtiment à travers des actions concrètes.

This building is entirely renovated in order to be more compatible with the environment and has notably been equipped with geothermal infrastructure and a vegetalised roof, of which a part has become a veggie garden around which social activities are animated, notably by Mylène.
